Listening to You’ll Find Lovers Like You and Me by Reality Club live reminded me of one thing :

Listening to You’ll Find Lovers Like You and Me by Reality Club reminded me of one thing: maybe my relationship really was worth ending, because apparently, I did find better lovers than him.
There’s something different about hearing a song you’ve played a hundred times suddenly being performed right in front of you. And today, Reality Club brought their music a little closer to Malaysian fans through a busking session at Semua House, giving us a small taste of what their music feels like when it’s happening right in front of you.
The last time I watched Reality Club perform was at RIUH x ASEAN, and that moment made me want to see them again, and again, and again. But let me tell you — watching a band at a festival and watching them at a showcase are two completely different experiences.
At a festival, everything feels bigger. The crowd is bigger, the stage is bigger, and there are probably five other things happening around you at the same time. But when you watch a band at a showcase, there’s an intimacy that you just don’t get in the same way. You feel closer to the band. You notice the little things. You hear the songs differently. Somehow, it feels less like you’re watching an artist perform and more like you’re sharing a moment with them.
And that’s probably what stood out to me most about Reality Club today.
Their songs already feel incredibly personal on record, but hearing them live and surrounded by people who know every word, gives them another kind of weight. Songs that you once listened to alone suddenly become something you experience together with an entire crowd.
Believe it or not, Reality Club somehow has a song for almost every phase of falling in love.
The first time you fall in love era. The crushing era. The “wait, do they like me too?” era. The breakup era. The “I’m finally making peace with what happened” era. And, of course, the absolutely questionable “maybe I should text my ex again” era.
But their music isn't only about love. There’s a lot more to discover throughout their discography, and I’m not going to sit here and explain every single one because, honestly, you guys need to explore that part yourselves.
What makes it even more interesting is that Reality Club is now celebrating 10 years of the band.
And I genuinely did not expect them to be turning 10 this year. Like… how? Some of their songs still don’t sound like they came from a band that started in 2016.
But maybe that’s the beauty of Reality Club. Ten years later, their songs still manage to find their way into different chapters of people’s lives. Some songs become soundtracks to a relationship, some become reminders of a person you thought you had already forgotten, and some simply stay with you because they sound good enough to be played on repeat.
Today’s busking session may have only given us a small glimpse of that journey, but there’s something much bigger waiting later this year.
Reality Club will be bringing their 10 Years of Reality Club celebration to Malaysia this November at Zepp KL — a full showcase of a decade spent making music, growing as a band, and collecting memories with the people who have been listening along the way.
If today was only a little taste of what Reality Club can feel like up close, imagine hearing those songs in a room filled with people who have their own stories attached to every single one.
Ten years of Reality Club. One night to feel it all.
